<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying mechanism capable of exactly detecting carrying amount of conveyed object with simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A head suspension assembly 40 is provided with a suspension 41 having a pair of attaching parts 411 and an arm part 412 extending in U-shape so as to connect them and showing elasticity in Z-axis direction, and a magnetic sensor 42 placed to the arm part 412. The arm part 412 bends along the Z-axis direction according to the magnitude of external force pressing the magnetic sensor 42 to a recording surface 31. So even if the recording surface 31 slightly moves to the Z-axis direction during carrying motion, the contact state of the magnetic sensor 42 and the recording surface 31 can be maintained within a possible range of bending of the arm part 412. Therefore, magnetic information of the recording surface 31 can be exactly read and the rotation quantity of a conveying roller 20 can be accurately detected.
