摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a magnetic disk device including a process for detecting and processing a defective sector, in which reproduction failure occurs at low operational temperature, by a simple method. SOLUTION: Detecting the defective sector is performed by read/write test at a high operational temperature of 40-65°C. When the data recorded in the defective sector is reproduced, gain for high frequency band turns out to be reduced. After recording the test data in each of the sectors, a value for a filter factor of an FIR filter arranged in a data reproduction system is changed from the optimal value, frequency gain is reduced, the testing data is reproduced, and the sector in which the reproduction failure occurs is registered as the defect. By correcting the value of the filter factor of the FIR filter, detecting the defective sector, in which the gain of the high frequency band for the data reproduction system is reduced and the reproduction failure becomes outstanding at a low operational temperature, is made possible.
