PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record high-definition video obtained as a result of shooting directly onto a plurality of DVDs 14. SOLUTION: In S56, it is determined whether or not a target chapter recording is interrupted in a sensing section if the target chapter is written for a recordable time period of an assumed DVDi. When it is determined that the target chapter recording is interrupted in the sensing section time, the process proceeds to S58, in which a DVD 14 for a write operation is newly assumed. Thereafter, in S54, the target chapter is added to a write candidate list, a recording time period of the target chapter is subtracted from the stored recordable time of the assumed DVDi, and the resultant time is assumed to be the recordable time of the assumed DVDi. Via S56 and S57, the target chapter is added to the write candidate list in S54. This means that the subsequent chapters are recorded onto a DVD 14 different from one which records chapters immediately before the target chapter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
