PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively shorten recovery time by optimizing latency time depending on rotational speed of an optical disk and a position of an optical pickup. SOLUTION: The method is an access control method for the optical pickup in which data, read from an optical disk 10 via an optical pickup 11, is temporarily stored in a shock proof memory 15. The method includes a step for determining the rotational speed of the optical disk and a position of the optical pickup on the optical disk during data connection operation, a step for setting up the connection operation starting position depending on the rotational speed and the position of the optical pickup, a step for moving the optical pickup to the connection operation starting position and performing the access to the data connection position.
