A direction detection switch capable of detecting the strength or the speed of key operation by detecting the key operation in 360° directions to provide clear click feeling to a user simultaneously. The direction detection switch comprises a definition key disposed at a center part and ring keys surrounding the definition key, a movable electrode movable when the ring keys are operated, a fixed electrode facing the movable electrode, and a click operation body corresponding to the definition key. The key top of the definition key and the ring key top of the ring key are fixed onto a sheet-like rubber elastic member, and the click operation body is pressed following the operation of the definition key to open and close a contact and produces the click feeling. The direction detection switch is characterized in that a variation in capacitance produced between the movable electrode and the fixed electrode when the ring keys are pressingly operated in 360° directions is detected, converted into electric signals, and outputted to press the click operation body so as to always provide the click feeling to the user.
