<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing faults, caused by the mismatch of fixing temperature control to the kind of output paper, in advance. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a heating control means 51 for controlling to heat a fixing roller for thermally fixing a toner image formed on paper to target temperature; a paper selection means 54 selecting the kind or the size of the fed paper; a fixing-temperature switching means 52 switching the target temperature to a temperature different from the standard temperature, based on the kind or the size of the paper selected by the paper selection means 54 in during copying operation; and a size detection means 53 for detecting the size of the fed paper. When the size detected by the size detection means 53 is different from the size selected by the paper selection means 54, in a state where the target temperature is switched to the temperature different from the standard temperature, the fixing-temperature switching means 52 reswitches the target temperature to the standard temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
