<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protection air bag capable of suppressing oscillation of an inner tube at an initial stage of inflation of the air bag and providing a thickly inflated protection area at the whole area just below the inner tube in an inflation body part. <P>SOLUTION: The head protection air bag 20 is provided with an air bag body 21 and the inner tube 34. The inner tube 34 is arranged in the air bag body 21 so as to be separable from an inner peripheral surface of the inflation body part 24 of the air bag body 21 such that the protection area 24c can be arranged just below it and an outer periphery is supported by a support cloth 38 bonded into the inflation body part 24. The support cloth 38 has a shorter length dimension than the inner tube 34 and is made to an approximately cylindrical shape capable of wrapping the inner tube 34. The support cloth 38 is integrally bonded and arranged at bonding of outer peripheral edges of indoor side/outdoor side wall parts 21a, 21b at an upper edge 24a side of the inflation body part 24 above the inner tube 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
