<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater element and a gas sensor therewith which are robust over mechanical impact and inhibit damages caused by high temperature increasing. <P>SOLUTION: The lengthy ceramic heater element 9 that is equipped with, at least, a first dense insulator 1a, a second dense insulator 1b stacked on the first insulator concerned 1a, and a heat generator 5 with flat cross section formed on a laminated surface 3 of the aforementioned first insulator 1a and the second insulator 1b, is characterized by forming a void 15 between the principal face of the aforementioned heat generator 5 parallel to the long axes of cross section of the aforementioned heat generator 5 and at least one or the other of the aforementioned first insulator 1a and the aforementioned second insulator 1b. in the cross section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the aforementioned ceramic heater element 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
