PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of versatility of selecting a material of supporting members (3) in a packaging material which has the upper and lower supporting members (3) individually overlapped on a top side and a bottom side of an article (10) to be packaged and package covers (2) to further individually overlap upper and lower sides while the outer periphery of the upper and lower covers (2) are wound and fixed by a binding band. SOLUTION: The upper and lower supporting members (3) are brought into surface contact with outer peripheral areas of a top side and a bottom side of the article (10) to be packaged. The package covers (2) has hollow legs (24), (25) which are abutted on the surface in a vicinity of the outer periphery of the supporting members (3) to receive the supporting members (3).
