PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat slide device for a vehicle aiming at further miniaturization. SOLUTION: A lock member 51 is engaged with an engagement hole 23a formed on either side of a pair of left and right second side walls 23 of a first rail (11) and engagement holes 32a, 33b formed on a first side wall 32 and a second side wall 33 of a second rail (12) positioned at both sides of the second side wall 23. The lock member 51 is built-in in a space surrounded by the first and second rails (11, 12) such that it is set to a position where a position where a slide member 41 slides and a position where the lock member 51 is engaged/operated with the engagement holes 23a, 32a, 33b are not interfered with each other between the first and second rails (11, 12).
