PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chest that reduces an impact noise generated by a drawer colliding with a stopper when the drawer is drawn forward with an inadequately large extent of a force. SOLUTION: The chest is provided with a chest main body 1 and the drawer 3 movably forward and backward provided on the main body 1. The main body 1 is equipped with a damper 7 in the front and closely near the drawer 3. The damper 7 is provided with a fixing base 8 to be fixed and a rod 9 movably forward and backward provided on the base 8 and energized to project backward from the base 8. A contact member 11 having a contact piece 13 to be brought into contact with the rod 9 when the drawer 3 is drawn forward oppositely to the rod 9 of the damper 7 is provided in the rear of the drawer 3.
