PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus by which an object similar to a spherical body can be simply extracted and a realtime property is not deteriorated. SOLUTION: An area of interest shown in 2D is formed on a tomograph in an optional cross section of a 3D image, the 3D image is extracted and shown making a rotating body shown in 3D formed by rotating the area of interest shown in 2D the area of interest, when extracting the are of interest from the 3D image collected by the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. For example, when the shape is a circle or an oval rotating body shown in 3D becomes spherical body or oval rotating body, and the image contained in the spherical body or the rotating oval body is extracted from the 3D image. Thus, when the spherical body or the oval rotating body is the area of interest, setting of the area of interest to the object having curved surface such as the head of a baby in the womb become easy, and the 3D image of the object of the curved surface can be easily extracted.
