The invention relates to an arrangement for placing road surfaces, which extend from slopes, on existing road structures or steep slopes, and to a method for constructing this arrangement. In order to obtain an arrangement, which is easy to construct and which is free from supports and the like underneath the newly created road surface, a cantilever element (1) is placed onto an existing supporting structure (2) while projecting beyond the supporting structure (2) on both sides, this cantilever element being fastened on the slope side or roadway side by means of tension rods (3).
