A method for extracting accumulated material from a well bore (102) includes pressurizing gas recovered from the well bore (102) and disposing an extraction string (104) in communication with a sump (116). The sump (116) is disposed to receive liquid from the well bore (102). The method further includes sealing the sump (116) and injecting at least a portion of the pressurized gas into the sump (116) such that at least some of the liquid in the sump is driven upward into the extraction string (104).
