PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize contents inside a particular group and to enable a group member to decode contents within the range of a limited digital device that is available to group members.

SOLUTION: In this system comprising a server 1 connected through a network to manage management information about contents and content keys to be distributed, a plurality of portable terminals 201 for performing communication with the server to acquire a key for utilizing the contents and a reproducing device 211 for reproducing allowed contents, the server 1 has a DB 12 including a license management table for registering a group ID given for a plurality of particular persons to allow the plurality of preregistered persons having a particular relation to use the contents and an ID (portable unique ID) unique to the portable terminals 201 used by a plurality of persons.
