<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and a communication method for use in a process environment including a plurality of devices distributed in a process plant. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system is provided with a handheld communicator having a processing unit, a computer-readable memory, a graphic display unit, an input device and a first wireless transceiver; and a second wireless transceiver which is provided in the process environment and is communicably coupled to at least one of the plurality of devices. The handheld communicator includes a memory adapted to store communication information prescribing a method for communicating with at least one of the plurality of devices, and a communication routine adapted to be executed by the processor for communicating with at least one of the plurality of devices with the first wireless transceiver and the second wireless transceiver, by using the communication information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
