<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which has a locking mechanism irrotationally fixing a steering wheel for antitheft, and wherein the locking mechanism does not block shortening of a column shaft for absorbing secondary collision energy in case of collision of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In a steering device capable of oscillating the steering wheel 1 in the fore-and-aft direction of a driver, a locking part 10 having a lock pin 11 is fixed to an instrument panel 100, a through-hole 15 is provided on a column shaft 2 and a column housing 3, the lock pin 11 is inserted in the through-hole 15 by oscillating the steering wheel 1, and the column shaft 2 and the steering wheel 1 are irrotationally locked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
