MOTION VECTOR SEARCHING METHOD, MOTION VECTOR SEARCHING APPARATUS, MOTION VECTOR SEARCHING PROGRAM, AND COMPUTER READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDED WITH ITS PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To possibly reduce the amount of operation by the movement search of a decimal pixel precision while the decrease of a coding efficiency is suppressed.

SOLUTION: A statistic instrumentation unit 11 in a motion vector searching apparatus 1 measures the frequency distribution of motion vector precision used for coding with an encoded frame, a control information formation part 12 selects a motion vector precision candidate which is used with a frame for coding from the frequency distribution measured in a statistic instrumentation part 11, and a decimal pixel precision motion searching part 13 performs the search of the motion vector based on the selected motion vector precision candidate. Consequently, it can control dynamically the search precision of the motion vector.
