PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detecting device capable of detecting liquid level accurately. SOLUTION: The liquid level detecting device 1 comprises a radiation section 2 for radiating light towards the liquid level 8, a light receiving section 3 for receiving light radiated from the radiation section 2 and reflected by the liquid level 8, a light blocking section 6 that is disposed on an optical path of the light radiated from the radiation section 2 and prevents the light from coming into the light receiving section 3 when the light radiated from the radiation section 2 hits it, and a detection section 5 for detecting whether the light is received by the light receiving section 3.
