PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately control an exposure time from a high-speed shutter area to a low-speed shutter area, in a solid state imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: In a solid-state imaging element, by applying an electronic shutter pulse in an arbitrary period, irrespective of vertical and horizontal blanking being in or out of the period, exposure is started, and the exposure is ended by the closing operation of a mechanical shutter.
