PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a distance without degrading accuracy in phase difference AF in a camera that has a contrast AF system and a TTL phase difference AF. SOLUTION: The camera includes: a light splitting means for splitting a subject luminous flux through a photographic optical system into a first luminous flux and a second luminous flux; a first photo-electric conversion means for receiving the first luminous flux; a second photo-electric conversion means for receiving the second luminous flux; a first distance-measuring means for measuring a distance in response to an output from the first photo-electric conversion means; a second distance-measuring means for measuring a distance in response to an output from the second photo-electric conversion means; and an optical element for adjusting an amount of light transmitted through the photographic optical system.
