PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner by which over-charge of toner fine particles can be prevented effectively. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing toner, in which an external addition treatment of the toner is carried out using a Q type mixer, a first-stage external addition treatment by adding a positive charge type external additive, having an average particle diameter of 80 nm to 3μm is executed and then a negative charge type external additive is added in a second-stage or later external addition treatment.
