PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning mechanism for an imaging unit, with which the imaging unit is reduced in size and weight. SOLUTION: First bolts 44 and a second bolt 48 are spirally engaged with a reference adjusting plate 31 and a temporarily fastening pin 36 is temporarily engaged with it. The first bolts 44 are fitted into the long holes 45 of the guide blocks 32 (32-1, 32-2), each long hole 45 having an adjustment space only in the Y-axis direction. The second bolt 48 is fitted into the round hole of the X-axis direction adjustment plate 34, the round hole having an adjustment space in the directions of 360. The temporarily fastening pin 36 is fitted into the long hole 47 of the X-axis direction adjusting plate 34, the long hole 47 having an adjustment space only in the Y-axis direction, and thereby inhibits the rotation of the X-axis direction adjusting plate 34. The cylindrical part of the imaging unit 33, integrated with aθ-axis adjusting part 35, is engaged with the fit-in hole 52 of the X-axis direction adjusting plate 34 and is further inserted into the play through-hole 40 of the reference adjusting plate 31. All the bolts are loosened. The positions in the Y-axis direction are determined to fasten the first bolts 44 and fix the guide blocks 32. A temporarily fastening pin 36 is pulled. The position in the X-axis direction is determined to fasten the second bolt 48 and fix the X-axis direction adjustment plate 34.
