PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor, an electrophotographic image forming method, an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge having no peeling of film in a photosensitive layer and no flaw or sticking of toner in a cleaning blade and capable of obtaining a high-quality toner image without an image defect such as generation of fogging, decrease in image density, decrease in sharpness, generation of a black spot, or the like, even when the printing for a multitude of sheets is performed. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having an intermediate layer containing a nonconductive inorganic particulates and a binder, between a conductive base body and at least the photosensitive layer, the number-average primary particle diameter of the nonconductive inorganic particulates is 5-300 nm, and an end part of the intermediate layer is the exposed insulation layer not covered by the uppermost layer.
