PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform operational temperature measurement on a chlorination furnace for titanium tetrachloride manufacture, stably, inexpensively, and accurately, for a long time. SOLUTION: This thermometer for measuring temperature in the chlorination furnace is equipped with an external protective tube, an internal protective tube insertably/extractably held in the external protective tube via a spacer, an insulation tube insertably/extractably held in the internal protective tube, a thermocouple held in the insulation tube, and a lid for detachably sealing up the external protective tube. The thermocouple communicates with the exterior through the lid. This thermometer is characterized in that gas is put in the external protective tube and in a space sealed up with the lid.
