<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise appearance of an image by smoothly controlling the change of exposure without prolonging a time required for convergence concerning a convergence operation from an inappropriate exposure state till an appropriate exposure state. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus repetitively performs exposure against an imaging element and the reading of stored charge information in synchronization with a synchronous signal, including the imaging element for performing succeeding exposure during a period for reading the charge information; a means for obtaining luminance from the charge information which is read from the imaging element; and a means for adjusting the amount of the exposure against the imaging element. When exposure amount adjustment, the exposure, the reading of the charge information, and the calculation of the luminance are successively performed so as to appropriately keep the luminance, the imaging apparatus changes the exposure amount against the imaging element during the period for reading the charge information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
