PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firstly realize a structure in which water never scatters even if water intrudes into a cowling and stays there and to secondly realize a structure in which water intruded into the cowling is not directly splashed on an engine.
SOLUTION: The outboard motor 1 is provided with the cowling 7 comprising a top cowl 700 for covering the engine 10 and a bottom cowl 701; an opening 710 for taking-in outside air provided on the top cowl 700; and an air suction chamber 711, i.e., a space for connecting the opening 710 for taking-in the outside air and a suction air duct 713 for sucking outside air to an engine room 80. In the outboard motor 1, air taken-in from the opening 710 for taking-in the outside air is led from the air suction chamber 711 to the engine room 80 through an air duct 713. A water accumulation part 90a for accumulating water intruded from the suction air duct 713 into the cowling 7 is arranged at an inner side of the bottom cowl 701. The water accumulation part 90a has a water accumulation opening 90a1 introduced with water. Further, a water passage 90c1 for guiding water is provided on the water accumulation part 90a.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
