<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spice containing mugwort and red pepper and produced by immersing mugwort and red pepper in a millet brandy to extract the components, a method for the production of the spice and the use of mugwort effective for suppressing the increase of blood sugar level and the hot taste of the pepper to enable the easy taking of red pepper component effective for burning the fat without trouble. <P>SOLUTION: The spice containing mugwort and red pepper is produced by immersing at least mugwort in a millet brandy to extract mugwort extract and then immersing at least red pepper in the brandy.
