PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of suppressing electricity consumption, and obtaining a good motion image whose frame is seamless. SOLUTION: A digital camera 2 is comprised of a capacity detection circuit 44 for detecting capacity of image data stored in SDRAM43, and a clock control circuit 54 for controlling a storage speed of image data in a memory card 51 by changing frequency of a system clock based on a detection result of the capacity detection circuit 44. The clock control circuit 54 makes the storage speed of the image data in the memory card 51 slow by decreasing a frequency of the system clock when the detection result of the capacity detection circuit 44 is smaller than a first threshold T1 set close to the lower limit of the capacity of the SDRAM43, and makes the storage speed fast by increasing the frequency of the system clock when the detection result of the capacity detection circuit 44 is larger than a second threshold T2 set close to the upper limit of the capacity of the SDRAM43.
