PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a slave station to realize the most satisfactory communicating circumstances with a master station without adjusting the physical position of a receiving antenna in a wireless LAN system mainly using the milliwave band of an electromagnetic wave. SOLUTION: A slave station side is provided with an antenna means 1 for dynamically changing directional characteristics at the time of receiving an electric wave from a master station, a means 2 for transmitting a control frame to the master station before starting communication and a means 3 for changing the directional characteristics of the means 1, and for retrieving directional characteristics maximizing the receiving electric field strength of a carrier wave from the master station.
