PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a mounting case for storing an electrooptical device such as a liquid crystal panel with stable manufacturing quality and at a low cost. SOLUTION: The mounting case (601) for an electrooptical device comprises: a main body section (613) so constituted as to house an electrooptical panel (500); and fitting sections (6a-6e) for fitting the electrooptical panel in the state of being housed in the main body section to a prescribed position. The main body section is constituted of a plate material formed by pressing. The fitting sections include seat sections (611aa-611ea) made by folding a portion of the plate material corresponding to the prescribed part of the periphery of the main body section in the bending work in pressing, and a wall section which defines fitting holes (611a-611e) passing through the seat sections.
