PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the miniaturization and the reduction of cost of a zoom lens applied to a mobile camera. SOLUTION: The zoom lens has a 1st lens group I having negative refractive power; a 2nd lens group II having positive refractive power; and a 3rd lens group III having positive refractive power in order from an object side to an image surface side. In the case of zooming from a wide angle end to a telephoto end, the 2nd lens group and the 3rd lens group are moved in a state where the 1st lens group is fixed. The 1st lens group I comprises a 1st lens 1 having negative refractive power, 2nd lens group II comprises a 2nd lens 2 having positive refractive power and a 3rd lens 3 having negative refractive power, and the 3rd lens group III comprises a 4th lens 4 having positive refractive power. Thus, the micro zoom lens whose aberration is satisfactorily corrected in all the area from the wide angle end to the telephoto end, which is miniaturized and thinned while securing a zoom ratio being about 2.5 to 3, and which is suitable for the mobile camera mounted in a cellular phone or the like is obtained.
