PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater detector capable of displaying accurately underwater information near to a water face, without being affected by a tailing signal. SOLUTION: In this underwater detector for emitting an ultrasonic wave from an echo sounder transceiver 1 into water, based on a transmission signal output from a transmission circuit 3, for receiving an echo reflected in the water by the echo sounder transceiver 1 to be converted into an electric signal, and for processing the electric signal to display the underwater information on a display part 8, based on a captured echo signal therein, a tailing signal removing part 6 is provided to taking out only the echo signal by removing the tailing signal, and a surface layer fish image is displayed clearly on a screen of the display part 8 without being concealed with the tailing signal.
