RUBBER COMPOSITION AND GOLF BALL EMPLOYING THE SAME

A rubber composition which has excellent suitability for roll processing while retaining hardness and high impact resilience and is suitable for use in golf balls. The rubber composition is characterized by comprising: a base polymer comprising (A) 20-99 parts by weight of high-cis polybutadiene which has been synthesized with a cobalt catalyst and has a Mooney viscosity of 50-70 and a molecular weight distribution (weight-average molecular weight (Mw)/number-average molecular weight (Mn)) of 2.5-3.8 and (B) 80-1 part by weight of high-cis polybutadiene having a Mooney viscosity of 30-70 synthesized with a catalyst which is not a cobalt catalyst; and a cocrosslinking agent incorporated in the base polymer.
