OPTICAL OUTPUT DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable irregularities in the optical output of an optical source composed of light emitting devices to be easily ascertained.

SOLUTION: An optical output detection system includes the optical source composed of light emitting devices; a light conversion member which contains fluorescent material that absorbs a part of light emitted from the light source and emits light having different wavelengths; and an optical output detecting means which is capable of discriminating light emitting devices having different optical outputs from the other light emitting devices. The optical output detection system is capable of discriminating the light emitting devices having different optical outputs from the other light emitting devices, based on an optical output from the light conversion member interposed between the optical output detection means and the above optical source.
