<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an optical pickup apparatus having two optical system requiring spherical aberration correction. <P>SOLUTION: In a first optical system, a laser beam having wavelength corresponding to a CD or a DVD is passed through expander lenses 104a and 104b, is upward turned to a direction being perpendicular to an optical disk1 by a mirror 303, converged by an objective lens 4a, and the optical disk 1 is irradiated with the laser beam.
