<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroformylation method in which a complex catalyst is recovered in a high recovery rate. <P>SOLUTION: This hydroformylation method comprising reacting an olefin with hydrogen and carbon monoxide in the presence of a group 8 to 10 metal-organic phosphorous complex catalyst to produce an aldehyde is characterized in that the recovery of high boiling point by-products from a reaction solution and the recovery of the complex catalyst comprises (1) an extraction process for extracting a high boiling point by-product-accumulated reaction solution from the reaction system, (2) a crystallization process for mixing the extracted reaction solution with a poor solvent and treating the mixture with hydrogen to crystallize the complex catalyst, (3) a recovery process for separating/recovering the crystallized complex catalyst from the mixture liquid, and (4) a circulation process for removing at least one of reaction solution components from the mixture liquid from which the crystallized complex catalyst is separated, and then feeding the residue into the crystallization process as a poor solvent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
