PACKET TRANSFER CONTROL METHOD AND METHOD FOR SETTING VPN IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for identifying which VPN a received packet is belonging to in an edge router for storing a line when a plurality of VPN(Virtual Private Network) is multiplexed on the same line.

SOLUTION: A VPN edge router is provided with a function for identifying a VPN by using a logical channel number multiplexed on the same line. The VPN is made identifiable by using a logical channel number multiplexed on a physical interface. Therefore, it is possible to increase the number of the VPN to be stored without increasing any physical line.
