PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stand for a liquid crystal television and a stand for a display device which can suppress each stand member from rotating to exceed a stand position even if a force not less than a predetermined force is applied. SOLUTION: The stand member 2 supports the liquid crystal television 50 by bringing the bottom surface 51 of the liquid crystal television 50 into an opening state inclined at a predetermined angle for a base member 1 with the bottom surface 51 of the liquid crystal television 50 contacting an installing surface 90. Also, a protruding portion 7f for restraining the stand member 2 from rotating in excess of the stand position by abutting on the abutting portion 1 of a base member 1h with the liquid crystal television 50 inclined is integrally provided on a main stand member 7 so as to extend in the widthwise direction of the main stand 7.
