IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND ORIGINAL MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus surely detecting an embedded position of an RFID tag independently of a paper size of an original and a set attitude of the tag and properly reading digital information from the RFID tag in the case of reading image data from the original to which the RFID tag is embedded. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus 10 is configured with: an image read means 11 for reading the image data from the original 3 that is placed or carried on the basis of its one-end side; and an information read means 11c for reading digital information from the RFID tag embedded to the original 3. Then the RFID tag is embedded to two diagonal corners of the original 3, and the information read means 11c is arranged at a position corresponding to the referenced one-end side so that at least one of the RFID tags comes nearer in the case of reading the image data.
