PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket connector capable of detecting a pair of elastic arms deformed so as to open outward when assembling it into a socket. SOLUTION: The socket 200 houses a contact 1 having a wire connection part 11 and a contact connection part 12 in a housing 2. The contact connection part 12 is provided with a flat plate-shaped contact main body 13 and a pair of elastic arms 13a, 13b extending from the contact main body 13 almost in parallel with each other. A pair of contacts 14a, 14b contacting with mate side contact 3 and a pair of protrusions for detection 15a, 15b protruding in directions opposite to each other are arranged on the top end part of the elastic arms 13a, 13b. A pair of difference in level 2a, 2b through which the pair of elastic arms 13, 13 pass, or on which the elastic arms are stopped depending on the opposing distance between the protrusions for detection 15a, 15b, are formed on an insertion hole 21 into which the contact 1 is inserted.
