PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an optical disk device capable of coping with fluctuation or change with time in a motor characteristic or a mechanical characteristic of a feed mechanism, by improving linearity of the rotational angle in each microstep in the microstep driving of a stepping motor, in the optical disk device using the stepping motor for moving an optical pickup in the radial direction of a disk. SOLUTION: In a state in which an optical disk is mounted and in which servo is applied (during reproduction or recording), the stepping motor is driven by the microstep, and the optical pickup is gradually moved in the radial direction of the optical disk, following the position on the disk where the reproduction or the recording is performed. An operation for recording a time interval after performing one microstep feeding of the stepping motor to the next one microstep feeding is repeated. A driving current waveform for the stepping motor is corrected on the basis of the information on each time interval, and the linearity of the rotation of the stepping motor is improved.
