PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display controller and program having an example sentence retrieval function of retrieving appropriate example sentences. SOLUTION: A CPU 21 detects example sentences in which a plurality of retrieved words are included continuously in an inputted order by executing an example sentence retrieval program 261. Next, changed forms of the retrieved words are read from a changed form word data table 2664 and the example sentences including the changed forms are retrieved. Then, identification marks are attached to the retrieved example sentences according to a degree of conformity with the inputted retrieved words and the identification marks are displayed on a display part 23 with the example sentences. In addition, when, for example, example sentences including collocations or set phrases using words "adult" and "accordingly" continuously are desired to be retrieved, a user may input them by inserting a space between the two words. On the other hand, when the example sentences any of which "adult" and "accordingly" are included in a random order are desired to be retrieved, user may input them by inserting "&" between the two words.
