PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for olefin polymerization which has high catalyst activity, can obtain a polymer having high stereoregularity at a high yield and has good hydrogen response, and to provide a method for producing olefin polymers using the catalyst. SOLUTION: The catalyst for olefin polymerization is formed from a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization obtained by bringing a solid component (a) containing magnesium, titanium, halogen and an electron-donating compound into contact with an organosilicon compound, an organosilicon compound (b) represented by [CH<SB>2</SB>=CH-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>]<SB>q</SB>SiR<SP>3</SP><SB>4-q</SB>and an organoaluminum compound, and an organoaluminum compound (B).
