PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a hydraulic motor unit in a wheel motor device constituted so as to independently drive a driving axle by the hydraulic motor unit. SOLUTION: A radial piston type hydraulic motor unit constitutes a HST in cooperation with an axle housing connected to a vehicle frame and a hydraulic pump unit separately arranged therefrom, and a wheel motor device comprises the hydraulic motor unit having an oil receiving member with at least a part thereof being located in an internal space of the axle housing, a hydraulic motor body which is arranged in the internal space of the axle housing in an oil pumping and relatively rotatable manner with respect to the oil receiving member, and a motor shaft which is not relatively rotatable with respect to the hydraulic motor body, and a deceleration transmission unit which is arranged in the internal space of the axle housing to perform the deceleration transmission of the rotational output of the hydraulic motor body to a driving axle.
