PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which can carry out suitable time management. SOLUTION: The printing system consists of a printer which carries out printing by using a printing head, and a communication device which carries out communication of predetermined data with the printer. In the printing system, the communication device is equipped with a clock part which clocks the present time by using power of a built-in battery, a communication part which carries out radio communication with the printer, and a communication control part which transmits the present time to the printer by a predetermined timing. The printer is equipped with a radio communication part which carries out radio communication with the communication device, a time management part which manages a time in the printer on the basis of the present time as a reference received from the communication device, and a control part which controls a predetermined action of the printer on the basis of the time in the printer.
