<p>Filter sock for removing dirt particles from a fluid comprises a wire-reinforced tube of knitted fabric. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing a filter sock as above by producing a filter fabric layer by circular knitting and incorporating a reinforcing wire into the filter layer; (2) filtration device comprising a filter sock as above; (3) watering plants in open ground by supplying water to the top of the soil through openings in an irrigation conduit and collecting water not absorbed by the plants in a drainage conduit leading to a collection tank that feeds the irrigation conduit comprises mounting a knitted filter on the inside and/or outside of the drainage conduit to remove particles from the water; (4) desalinating sea water by evaporation or reverse osmosis, where particles are removed from the water with a knitted filter before desalination.</p> |
