<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vanadium-containing radish sprout containing vanadium generally believed to be effective for the prevention, etc., of diabetes and readily takable as a daily food. <P>SOLUTION: Germinated seed of radish is put in a water tank for hydroponic culture and the sprout is grown by supplying a liquid fertilizer containing water-soluble potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen, etc., and maintained at a prescribed temperature while adding a soluble vanadium compound to the liquid fertilizer. In the culturing method for radish sprout, the vanadium concentration in the liquid fertilizer is preferably maintained to 0.05-10 mg/L and the vanadium-content of the radish sprout produced by the method is preferably about 10-100 ppm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
