<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-scaled gasification method and an apparatus which offer high operability, safety and economical efficiency and are used for producing a fuel gas by safely and efficiently gasifying biomass such as wood and energy plants or organic wastes such as construction wastes, animal and plant residues, sludge, garbage and paper in or near a place in which they are generated and for performing distributed generation by a gas engine, a gas turbine and a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: In a thermochemical conversion apparatus, a thermal decomposition reaction is carried out by heating the organic material either alone or together with a catalyst if required and/or a gasification reaction such as steam reforming is carried out using a gasifying agent such as steam. In a tar separating apparatus, a tar gas in the obtained gas is directly contacted with a previously cooled tar liquid to separate tar from the gas. The separated tar liquid and tar if required are fed to the thermochemical conversion apparatus to carry out a thermal decomposition or a thermochemical conversion reaction such as steam reforming and gasification to almost completely gasify the organic material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
