<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling replacement of consumables under which a request packet for acquiring the positional information only of a selected hardware can be transmitted when a driver for using a hardware connected with a network is installed. <P>SOLUTION: When consumables run out in a certain printer out of a plurality of types of printers connected with a local/network, the identical consumables are detected in the stock and from among the connected printers, and then the optimum replacement consumables are calculated based on the validity date, frequency of use and residual quantity of consumables, and advised. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
